Obituary
Helen Rawlings Ellery passed peacefully into heaven surrounded by family members on October 22, 2026 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice facility in Bolivia, North Carolina.
Helen was born in Elizabethtown, NC on October 6, 1939. She was a telecommunications customer service specialist in Florida for most of her career. After retirement she moved to North Carolina to be near her family.
Helen loved to be outdoors with her flowers and birdwatching from her back porch. She was a member of First Baptist Church Shallotte, NC and was so appreciative of all the care received from Pastor Dr. Bob Weathers over the years.
She is survived by her three sons: Charles (Maggie) of Paige, Texas; Michael and Jack both of Luverne, Alabama; and her daughter Sara (Mark) of Wadesboro, NC. She has many grandchildren and great grandchildren scattered around the country.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice facility in Bolivia, NC.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27th at 11:00AM in the chapel of the Brunswick Funeral Services Chapel and Memorial Gardens in Shallotte, NC led by Rev. Mark Perko of Wadesboro, NC with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service as well as at her home following the services
