Obituary
Henry Frye Carte, Jr., 76, from Ash, NC received his heavenly wings on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, after a long illness. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
Born in Sissonville, WV on November 7, 1947, he was the son of the late Henry Frye Carte, Sr., and Rona Irene Milam Carte.
In 1970, Henry experienced a life altering diving accident while attending Fairmont State University. After completing rehabilitative services, he graduated with a degree in Industrial Arts from Fairmont State University and founded C & C Fabrication with his father. He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. His contagious smile and positive attitude were an inspiration to many and most effectively utilized while wheeling and dealing. Henry was employed with the State of West Virginia as a Black Lung Disability Examiner until his retirement. He was a man of many talents as was evident in his architectural designs of his homes in West Virginia and North Carolina. Henry and Beverly attended New Life Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Beverly Belknap Carte of 46 years; sister Barbara (RL) Martin; brother Roger Carte; sister-in-law Shelia (Jimmie) Amick and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 2:30pm in New Life Baptist Church, Ash, NC, officiated by the Reverend Jason L. Benton. A burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
