Henry Liston Hardee

Henry Liston Hardee, 93, of Shallotte, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Born in Horry County, SC on February 13, 1933, he was a son of the late Grover Hardee and Florence Anderson Hardee.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 68 years, Janet, and as the baby boy of his family, he outlived all his siblings.

He is survived by his three loving daughters, Karen Sloane Broman, Kathy White, and Liesl Parks; sons-in-law, Robby White and Tom Parks; nine grandchildren Paige, Leah, Mindie, Alyson, Cortney, George, Sonny, Eric and Sydney; nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends as close as family.

He grew up in Horry County before joining the United States Marines and the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War as a young man. Upon returning home and being honorably discharged, he dedicated his life to hard work, taking care of his family and volunteering to teach as many as possible the joyous hopes found in the Bible. He was a loyal member of the Shallotte Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  He will be missed for his sage words, dapper dress and quick wit!

The family would like to thank the sweet nurses and doctors that cared for him in his final days.

A private burial will be at the Hardee Cemetery in Loris, SC on Tuesday, June 23 with a public memorial service to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SECU Hospice House of Brunswick.
