Obituary
Hulon Elbridge Grissett, 92, of Ocean Isle Beach (Grissettown Community) died June 15, 2018. Born in Brunswick County, NC on August 1, 1925, he was a son of the late William (Willie) Bryant Grissett and Carrie Olinda Stocks Grissett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Dianne Grissett.
He was a retired farmer, a member of Shallotte Masonic Lodge #727 AF&AM, and a degree coach for many years.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-eight years, Ruby Thompkins Grissett; sons, Marvin Grissett (Virginia) and Wayne Grissett (Isabel), of Ocean Isle Beach; daughters, Olinda Sellers (David), of Supply and Janie Lewis (Ron) of Wilmington; brother, Malcolm Grissett (Brenda) of Ocean Isle Beach; sister, Joyce Kirk, White Plains, MD; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Monday, June 18, in Old Shallotte Baptist Church officiated by The Rev. Rory Thigpen and Deacon Roy Willetts. Entombment will follow in Mintz Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times from the residence.
