Irene Virginia Davis Fuller, beloved by all who knew her, peacefully passed away at the age of 99 on Friday, October 27, 2023. She was born on August 26, 1924, in Harrison Township, Pennsylvania, as the cherished only child of the late EA “Whitey” Davis and Alice Marie Kegley. Her remarkable journey through life was one filled with love, family, and unwavering dedication.

Irene graduated from Freeport High School in 1942. In 1943, she married her husband, Guy, in Freeport, Pennsylvania. Their marriage, a source of endless joy and strength, endured for an incredible 62 years until Guy preceded her in death. Together, they raised five swell children.

Irene served as an Upper Burrell secretary for ten years, contributing her skills and dedication to her community. In 1978, Irene and her family relocated from Upper Burrell Township, Pennsylvania to Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

 Irene's faith was an essential part of her life, and she played a pivotal role as a founding member of St. Brendan Catholic Church in Shallotte, NC. She served as the secretary of the Ladies Guild and the treasurer of the inner church council. She particularly enjoyed the Spanish Mass where she didn’t understand a word being spoken, but her joy was evident as she tapped her foot in rhythm. Her love for the church was apparent in her active participation and support.

Irene had a passion for crafting, including knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and painting ceramics. She created countless beautiful pieces that enriched the lives of those around her. She also loved to play bingo, balance her checkbook, and do laundry and puzzles. She was the family baker and seamstress making many of her family's clothing throughout the years. She knitted and crocheted countless blankets and toys for donation to her church’s missions. Irene was extremely independent, which was exemplified by her love of driving until she finally gave up her license at the age of 90. 

She leaves behind her 5 children, Alice Fuller of Port Orange, FL, Dan Fuller (Bonnie) of Boyertown, PA, Guy Fuller III (LouAnn) of Upper Burrell, PA, Dianne Loughran (Neil) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Terry Fuller, Wrightsville Beach, NC. Her grandchildren Laurie Snider (Dave), Curt Smith, Susie LoBello (Jeff), Dan Fuller Jr. (Becky), Cory Loughran (Amy), Casey Sellers (Adam), Carly Fuller and Bridget Wilson (Ryan). She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, November 13, 2023, at St. Brendan Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Brunswick Memorial Gardens Columbarium.
