Irving Lee Bragg, III
Obituary
Irving Lee Bragg, III of Carolina Shores, NC, died Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at his home.
Lee was born in Washington, D.C. on May 6, 1945, to Irving, Jr. and Katherine Jones Bragg.
Lee was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and attended American University in Washington D.C, Lee was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Vietnam Era aboard the USS Rich DD-820. Lee retired from ATK/Northrop Grumman after 30+ years as a graphic artist.
Lee loved golf. Taking up the sport as a teen, he played as often as possible. When he lived in Elkton(MD), he was a member of Brantwood and Chisel Creek golf clubs. The golf channel and/or a tournament were always on the TV. A highlight of his retirement was going to Scotland and playing St. Andrews. He was involved with the Cecil County Public Schools mentoring program (golf) and he taught art at Cecil College for a brief time. Lee’s hobbies (other than golf) included computer art and listening to music. He loved the band Dire Straits. In his younger years, he was also known to pick up a harmonica on occasion. Lee also enjoyed a good comedy. He thought Larry David (curb your enthusiasm) was the funniest guy on earth. Lee also enjoyed steamed crabs. He could never find “good” crabs in NC, so he would have them shipped down from MD(Chester River if available) for special occasions!
I know Pop is in heaven annoying my mother, having a beer or two with old friends, enjoying a good blueberry muffin (from Sam’s…not Costco) and rooting for the Commanders…fighting for ol’ DC! We will all miss him dearly.
He is survived by his son Jesse Bragg (Mary) of North East, MD and his grandson Samuel; and one brother, Charles Bragg of Alexandria, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Bragg.
Services in both Maryland and North Carolina will be held at a later date.
