Obituary
Jack Robert Dodds, age 81 of Ocean Isle Beach, NC died after a short illness, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Jack was born on March 24, 1943, in Kittanning, PA to George and Erma Reich Dodds.
Jack was a proud US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam as a 1stLieutenant and received a Purple Heart as well as a Bronze Star while in action. He owned and operated Jack’s Lock Shop in Ocean Isle from 1989 until he retired in 2016. He was married to the love of his life Charlotte for 49 years. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife: Charlotte Goon Dodds; son: Brian Dodds (Lisa); grandchildren: Brian, Seinna, Kamryn; great grandchildren: Cece, Brinley, Jacklyn, Blair, Olivia; brothers: George, Billy, Audie, Rick, Kevin, Randy, Robert, Randall Dodds; sisters: Sandy Smith, Karen Vose, Beverly Elliott, and JoAnn Hornyak. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: David, Gary, Eddie and Gregory Dodds.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte, 5229 Ocean Hwy W and the funeral will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home Chapel with Rev. Henry Rehder officiating. Burial, with Military Honors will be at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens, Little River, SC.
