Obituary
Jacqueline Margaret “Jackie” South, 84, of Carolina Shores, formerly of Cortlandt Manor, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2017.
Jackie was the daughter of Grace Atwell Fried, born on May 12, 1933 in Mt. Vernon, NY. Jackie and her husband of 61 years, Melvin, retired to Carolina Shores 25 years ago. She was a member of Seaside United Methodist Church. She showed that her strength was unparalleled as a four time cancer survivor. Jackie above all loved her family and especially her grandchildren, she will be forever missed.
Jackie was predeceased by her mother and one grandson, Joe.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Melvin; daughters, Diane Schneider and husband Michael, of Carolina Shores, Janice Prine and husband Barry, of Fishkill, NY, Sharon McDonough and husband Todd, of Poughkeepsie, NY; a son, Greg South, of CT; one brother; two sisters; and her beloved grandchildren, Michael, Mark, Marc, Eric, Brian, Matt, Jason, Kaitlyn and Christina.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Jackie’s name to the SECU Hospice house of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Ln SE, Bolivia, NC 28422
