James “Jim” William Hartsell, 80, of Supply, NC passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Born in Mecklenburg County, NC on December 22, 1944, he was the son of the late Fred Williamson Hartsell (Hattie) and Ola Lee Smith (Hartsell) Bowers (J. C.). In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by a brother, David Bowers and sister-in-law, Sharon Hartsell.

Jim honorably served his country in the United States Army, serving two tours in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. He was a retired electrician and loved camping and spending time with his family and friends. His love for fishing with his sons will always be a memory to treasure. His legacy of honor, integrity, love, and dedication will live on and be cherished by his family and all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Delores Elaine Bratton Hartsell; his sons, James “Jamie” Hartsell (Anita) and Michael “Mike” Hartsell (Kelly); daughter Trina Robinson (Wade); grandchildren, Morgan Merriman (Ty), Olivia McVeigh (Phillip), Michael Griffin Jr., Alicia Bevins (Sam), Garret and Rylie Brodeur, and Josh Ota; and great grandchildren Astrid and Odin Bevins; brothers Edward Hartsell, Freddie Hartsell (Linda), Melvin Bowers, and Roger Bowers.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 1:00PM in the Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel. Burial will follow in the Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
