Obituary
Janet Murphy Confer, 83, of Carolina Shores died February 24, 2017.
She was born in Yonkers, NY on July 11, 1933 a daughter of the late Charles Murphy and Lillias MacRae Murphy. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two granddaughters, Lindsay Jean Bennett and Lorie Rae Bennett and her beloved pet, Romeo.
Janet was retired from the New York Telephone Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shallotte.
Surviving at the time of her death was her husband, Melvin Ray Confer of the home; daughters, Donna Thompson and her husband John Peter “Pete” of Shallotte and Jean (Jeanie) Confer of Flagstaff, AZ.
A celebration of life will be conducted Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 4:00 pm in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel. Inurnment will take place on Sunday, March 19, 2017 in Brunswick Memorial Gardens Columbarium.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on March 5, 2017.
