Obituary
JC Ward, age 73, of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his residence.
He was born in Columbus County on January 22, 1948, he was the son of the late Joseph Mack Ward and Lottie Mae Ward. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Etha Yvonne Ludlum Ward, a daughter, Tammy Yvonne Ward; two brothers Billy Wayne Ward and Winfred Jay Ward.
Mr. Ward loved the Lord, and was an active member of Ocean View Baptist Church, loved to share his talents as a guitar player and sang in the choir. He was former owner and operator of JC Ward Construction Company. He loved nature and was an avid fisherman and hunter. JC was an amazing husband, dad and grandfather known as “Papa”. He loved football and his favorite team was the Miami Dolphins as well as college basketball. He watched every game of the Carolina Tarheels. It was not ironic to the family at all when Mr. Ward passed away on Super Bowl Sunday because of his love of sports.
Surviving are his son, Tony Ward and wife, Shonda of Ash, NC; a brother Mack (Donald) Ward and wife, Cindy of Currie, NC; a sister, Betty Jean Lewis and husband, Gary of Shallotte, NC; two grandchildren, Makayla Ree Roberts and husband Ian of Ocean Isle Beach, NC and Curtis Monroe Ward and wife, Raven of Ash, NC; one great-grandchild, Ryan Curtis Ward.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2021 in Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel by Reverend Larry Melton and Reverend Jason L. Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
