Michael Brittan Parrish born 04/24/1960 passed away quietly on 01/12/2022 and his wife, Jean Dorman Parrish born 02/08/1961 passed away on 01/13/2022 both due to COVID. As always, they were inseparable, even at death. They were both being treated in Novant Health Center, Brunswick County in Shallotte, NC

Michael was born in Johnston County to Norma Jean Hall Parrish and Curtis Parrish. He graduated from South Johnston High School. Michael started working at the Erwin Mills when he was just 17 while continuing to go to school. The last 15 years he worked as a cabinet maker with Conestoga Wood Specialties in Kinley, NC. He was currently employed with Lowe’s in Shallotte, NC.

He was a quiet man, a loving and devoted husband and father and caring brother, a true friend with a quirky sense of humor, warm, genuine smile and loved taking road trips and spending time with his family. His favorite hobby was fishing. .

Jean was born in Harnett County to Jean Matthews Dorman and I.B Dorman. She graduated from Erwin High School and attended Johnston Community College. She was an assistant teacher and bus driver at Coats Primary School for 25 years. She was a warm, loving person and loved each child she taught as her own. Jeannie, as she was lovingly called, never met a stranger. She had a heart of gold and enjoyed teaching. She had a warm smile and contagious laugh. She was the rock that supported her family. She enjoyed reading, sitting on the beach, thrift store and flea market shopping, but her favorite was road trips and being with her family.

They leave behind a son, Christopher Michael Parrish and a daughter Lauren Parrish Cox and husband Jonathon Cox, who they both loved a son.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Curtis, and a sister, Bonnie Parrish Byrd. Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Jean and both by a nephew, James Maston Murphy.

Michael is survived by Mother, Norma, brother Tony, and sister Lisa Parrish Barnes. Uncles R.B. Parrish (Charlotte), Jonas Langdon, and Aunt Linda Herring (L.M.)

Jean is survived by her sister Donna Dorman Strickland and husband Hugh Craig, Aunts Bernice Naylor, Irene Dorman Cole and Uncle John Cole and Aunt Willa Mae Norris.

Together they are survived by nephews Jonathan Murphy, wife Elizabeth, Steven Murphy, wife Laura, Collin Byrd, wife Misty, Bryan Parrish, wife Nina, Luke Barnes and Steven Strickland. Nieces Emily Stanley, husband Scott, Morgan Parrish and Lindsay Reaves, husband Rylan. They had 17 great nieces and nephews.
