Joann “Jody” Grey Fincher, 65, of Charlotte, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at SECU Hospice House of Brunswick in Bolivia, NC. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

Jody was born on February 7, 1956 in Charlotte, NC to Joe and Mary (Castonguay) Grey. She received her nursing degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1978. She took pride in being a labor and delivery nurse; as well as, the Queen of Inside Operations for Fincher Electric Co., Inc. On November 5, 1988, she married John Joseph Fincher Sr. They were happily married for 33 years and raised two children, Mary Hannah Zogzas (Fincher) and John Joseph Fincher Jr. She recently became a proud grandmother to Grey Zogzas. 

Jody had a passion for life - loved traveling, music, and especially loved the beach. She defined what it meant to be thoughtful and always put others before herself. The support she offered was always genuine, subtle, and uplifting. Most importantly, she knew how to live life to the fullest. Her family and friends will continue to cherish the memories made through her lifetime. Jody will forever be remembered for her positive spirit during her three-and-a-half year battle with cancer.  

Jody was preceded in death by her father, Joe, and her mother, Mary. She is survived by her husband, John, two children, Hannah and Jake, son-in-law, Charlie, grandson, Grey, three siblings, Mike, Pam, and Chuck, and a number of additional family members. 

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 15, 2021, at St. Peter Catholic Church with Father John Michalowski, S.J in Charlotte, NC. A reception will follow the service at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille.
