Obituary
John David Karahuta, age 78, died Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at his home in Southport, NC.
David was born on December 26, 1945, to John and Marguerite Moresi Karahuta in Lorain, OH.
David was a lifelong sailor and was a Trustee of the Vermilion, OH Boat Club where he spent very happy years living in the Boat Club apartments. He was an elementary school teacher early in his career and retired as Principal. After retirement, he and his wife, Mary Lou, moved to Southport, NC to sail warmer waters and enjoy life at the coast.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Lou Stegner Karahuta; sister: Pat Geyer; nephews: Scott and Kevin Geyer and cousins: Marilyn Stegner, Donald Stegner and Rosemary Zezulinski.
Friends may call on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 PM at Brunswick Funeral Service 3479 Southport-Supply Road Bolivia, NC.
