Obituary
John F. “Jack” McRoberts, Jr., age 67, died suddenly on Friday, January 20, 2017 after playing 18 holes of golf with his buddies. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Evelyn (Pilgrim) and the late John F. McRoberts, Sr. He was predeceased by a sister, Katherine Goggins.
Jack attended Duquesne University and retired from the U. S. Secret Service after 20 years of service and relocated to Ocean Isle Beach, NC in 1990. Jack was an avid golfer and loved to travel with his wife, Bernice. Jack loved God, his family, his country, golf, and his Steelers. He was loved by all who crossed his path and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 45 years, Bernice McRoberts; daughter Jenny Otto (Darren) of Charlotte, NC and son J. F. (Jay) McRoberts (Erin) of Holly Springs, NC; grandchildren, Luke, Maggie and Evie McRoberts; brother, Jerry McRoberts (Gretchen), sister, Nancy Barkand (Tom), and his extended family.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church with inurnment to follow. People can pay respect to the family following the service in the church fellowship hall.
