John Henry Schmidt, 80, of Carolina Shores, NC, died Sunday, August 24, 2025.
John was born in Northport, NY and was a son of the late Frederick Schmidt and Edith Morrison Schmidt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Schmidt and a sister, Carolyn Brandt.
John was a retired parts manager and a United States Army Veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Sheila Silverstrom Schmidt; a son Eric Schmidt; brother Fred Schmidt; and three grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM in St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 5869 Ocean Highway W, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469. Following the service, inurnment will be in the church columbarium with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM-11:00AM at the church.
After services are completed there will be a time for fellowship and luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church or to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
