John Jude Lynch

John Jude “Jack” Lynch, age 80, of Southport, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the SECU Hospice House in Bolivia, NC.

Jack was born in Queens, NY, on March 4, 1944, to John E. and Jean A. Lynch. As the eldest of eight siblings, Jack shared a special bond with his brothers and sisters, always leading with humor, kindness, and a deep love for family.

After graduating from St. Michael’s College, Jack proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era. Following his service, he built a successful career as a broker in professional liability insurance in New York City, where his good nature, integrity, and charm left a lasting impression on colleagues and clients alike.

A devoted family man, Jack was deeply committed to his wife, Peggy, his daughters, and his grandchildren. For many years, Jack and his family called Huntington, NY, their home before retiring to St. James in Southport, NC.

Known for his quick wit and warm personality, Jack had an easy way with people, making friends wherever he went. In retirement, he embraced life with enthusiasm. An avid golfer, Jack spent many happy days on the course, enjoying the camaraderie of friends and the game he loved.

Jack will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Peggy; his daughters, Vicki Ceo (Chris) of Palm City, FL, and Jennifer Maisch (Patrick) of Northport, NY; and his adored grandchildren, Siena, Patrick Jude “PJ,” and Julian. He is also survived by his siblings, Carol Paoloni (John) of Bluffton, SC; Tom Lynch (Jean) of Port St. Lucie, FL; Mark Lynch (Andrea) of Southport, NC; Lore Weber (and her late husband, Bob) of Jupiter, FL; and Chris Marino (Dan) of Fort Myers, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his brothers Bill (Dana) and Danny Lynch.

Jack’s humor and warmth will be remembered fondly by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of his life will be planned at a later date.
