John Perry Dodd, 79, peacefully passed away on January 14, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Pat Eagle Dodd for 58 years. A devoted father to sons Eric and Brian and daughter in law Jean Dodd. He was an exceptional “Pawpaw” to Joey, Summer and Gracie Dodd. The son of John and Betty Dodd and brother to Vernon, David, Linda and Lena.

John spent most of his time doing what he could to make the world a better place. He volunteered at the hospital and blood donation center. He was a lunch buddy to elementary students. He was very active in his church and Methodist Men’s group. He was environmentally conscious by recycling and removing trash from the lake where he lived. He was a beekeeper and homed Purple Martins as well as many other birds. He always had a garden and grew roses.

He loved to spend time with family, was an avid fisherman and loved to cook and travel.

A family memorial will take place on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Lyman United Methodist Church or the volunteer program at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.
