Johnny Charles Tharpe, 66, of Calabash, NC died February 10, 2021.
Born in Conway, SC on February 10, 1955, he was a son of Lula M. Todd Tharpe and the late Charlie J. Tharpe. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Earlie J. Tharpe.
He owned and operated Johnny’s Outboard Motor Shop.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Melanie Wilson Tharpe; daughters, Krystal Tharpe, Calabash, NC, and Kathryn Tharpe (Chase Maree), Ash, NC; sons, Richard Brandon Tharpe (Jennifer Euchner), Jacksonville, NC, and Cecil Sommersett (Theresa), Brunswick, GA; sister, Mary Lou Matthews, Ocean Isle Beach, NC; eight grandchildren and one on the way.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
Masks and social distancing will be observed.
