Obituary
Joseph John Lavorgna, age 78, of The Ocean Ridge Community, Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, passed peacefully on March 21, 2025.
Mr. Lavorgna was born on October 16, 1946, in Bridgeport, CT to the late Salvatore Joseph Lavorgna and Philomena Coscia Lavorgna. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He received his MBA from Florida Institute of Technology. He was a retired Director with Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland having also worked in Charles County Public Schools, Maryland.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheri Vincent Lavorgna; daughter, Jocelyn Knox (Karl); sons, Justin Crable and Peter Crable (Jena); sister, Geraldine Botte; sister-in-law, Gay Vincent; brothers-in-law Griffith Vincent (Peggy) and Brent Vincent (Amy); and grandchildren, Phoebe Crable, Ellen Crable, Owen Crable, August Crable and Pearl Crable; many nieces and nephews.
