Obituary
Joseph ‘Larry’ Boyte, 82, of Blowing Rock, North Carolina and Supply, North Carolina, died December 4, 2025.
Born in Eden, North Carolina, on January 31, 1943, he was the son of the late Joseph Walter Boyte and Ruth Louise Hill Boyte.
Larry graduated from East Carolina University in 1966 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He is an alumnus of the Theta Chi Fraternity and deeply cherished the lifelong friendships made. Larry’s connection to ECU continued throughout his life as an active member of The Pirate Club with regular attendance at home football games.
In 1995, Larry retired from Duke Energy (formerly Carolina Power & Light). After retirement, he was employed as a Project Manager with Coastal Development & Realty, overseeing new home construction. An avid hunter, he was a member of the McMilly Hunting Club.
Surviving are his wife, Connie Thompson Boyte; daughter, Lauren Clemmons (Jody); sisters, Edna Earl DeHart and Carmel McDowell; and grandchildren, Cole Clemmons (Bethany), Katie Driggers (Jimmy) and Cori Lee Clemmons who lovingly knew him as Big Daddy.
Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 2:00PM, from the graveside in Brunswick Memorial Gardens, Shallotte, North Carolina.
