Joy Lynn Rogers
Obituary
Joy Lynn Rogers, 64, wife of Lennie Rogers, went home to the Lord on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Born in Harbor City, CA to Susana Rosner and the late Lee Martin on January 12, 1961, Joy was a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She came to know the Lord as a young adult and passionately followed Jesus for the rest of her life. Her love for the Lord was reflected in her deep care for her family and service to others. She was especially passionate about Gospel ministry through missions, as reflected in multiple trips she took to Uganda. Joy spent most of her life in Southern California, where she met her husband Lennie, raised her family, and made many cherished friendships. She then fell in love with the quaint southern beachtown of Southport, where she spent her last year embraced by a beloved new community in Arbor Creek.
In addition to her husband of 32 years, Joy is survived by her three children: Chloe, Hailey, and Corey Rogers. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Lalland, Donna King, and Linda Rose, as well as her stepmother, Pat Martin. Joy was predeceased by her father, Lee Martin, and her stepfather, Stephen Rosner.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 18 at Generations Church, 4019 Executive Park Blvd, Southport, NC 28461. Visitation will be held from 9-10am at Generations, prior to the service. The service will be officiated by Pastor Bob Grass of Living Word Bible Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Align Ministries, a missions organization near and dear to Joy’s heart. Give - Align International.
