Judy Golden Russ, 80, of Russ Haven Lane, Ash, NC, died Monday, May 26, 2025, at her residence.

She was born in Conway, SC on August 10, 1944, to the late Filbert Golden and Emmarine Vick Golden.    In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by husband Jerry Lane Russ; sister Peggy Golden; brother Earl Gray Golden; and granddaughter, Amanda Milliken. 

She is survived by her children, Sonja Russ Milliken, Jereld Russ and Charlotte Russ Milligan, all of Ash; sister, Phyllis Golden James, of Calabash; grandchildren, Adam Milligan(Alex), Mallory Milliken Jones (Dallas), and Savannah Russ; great-grandchildren, Raya Sunshine Milliken, Zane Hewett, Owen Milligan, Rhett Milligan, Aycie Lay Milligan, Mason Clemmons, Leighton Clemmons and Brayden Clemmons; sisters- in-law Judi Russ and Brenda Russ. Also surviving are her beloved dogs, Tucker and Mollie.  

Judy was raised at Gause Landing playing under the live oaks and in the waterway with her sisters Phyllis and Peggy.  She was a member of the Shallotte High School Class of 1962, and she spent her career working at Brunswick Electric Membership Corporation, retiring in 2006. She and her husband, Jerry, farmed tobacco and always had a bountiful garden, out of which Judy would cook delicious meals. She was Famous for her chocolate pie and Thanksgiving dressing with gravy. Judy was the matriarch and backbone of her family. She welcomed all in need with an open door and a loving heart.  

She was a member of Longwood Baptist Church, and prior to her membership at Longwood, she was a member of Ocean View Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Judy will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving mother and grandmother who always had the generous love of Christ in her heart.  

Funeral services will be held at Brunswick Funeral Service Shallotte Chapel (5229 Ocean Hwy West, Shallotte, NC  28470) on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11 AM, with Reverend Jeff Russ and Reverend Kenny Todd presiding. A burial will be at Russ Haven Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be Chris Russ, Matthew Gore, Dallas Jones, Justin Davis, Israel Formyduval and William Grissett.
