Obituary
Julian Herschel Allen, 91, of Calabash, NC and Autumn Care of Shallotte passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016. Herschel was born January 27, 1925 in Charlotte, NC. He was predeceased by his wife Gloria Lowery Allen; his son, James Clifford Allen; his daughter Robbie Allen Porter; his father James Crawford Allen; his mother Lilly Mae Davis Allen; his sisters Mary Ruth Day, Jessie Corene Allen and Lucille Allen Simpson.
He is survived by his daughter Linda Allen Trull (Bill) of St. Johns, FL; his son Jeffrey Scott Allen of Sunset Beach, NC; and his granddaughter Cathy Threatt Ballard (David) of Elkton, FL.
Herschel was a World War Two Veteran serving in the Navy both in the European and Pacific Theatres. He was a retired building contractor and roofer from Charlotte NC.
Services will be conducted from the graveside at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 29, 2016 in Brunswick Memorial Gardens, 5229 Ocean Highway, Shallotte, NC.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte.
