Kathleen (Jones) Dunford. Born March 24, 1943 died on July 9, 2021 in Sunset Beach, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley F.G and Mary P. (McGonegal) Jones and sisters Ellen V. Horner and Frances J Richardson and former spouse, John H. Dunford Sr. She is survived by her sons, Stephen (Nathan Brisby), Astoria, NY and John, London, England. Four brothers, Stanley (Maria Carmen), Boca Raton, FL; Richard, Huntington Beach, CA; Stephen (Margaret), Sunset Beach NC; and Robert (Mary Anne), Chicago, IL and three sisters, Mary Ann (Joseph) Dormady, Farmington Hills, MI; Elizabeth Smith (Robert), Albuquerque, NM and Virginia (Michael) Boyle, Lafayette Hill, PA. Among those who loved her, are 41 nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and her cousin, Nancy Gordon, Randolph, NJ.

Kathleen was a graduate of Red Bank Catholic High School Class of 1961, Katherine Gibbs School (NY) and NYU/Sloan Kettering School of Surgical Assistants. She was a Maryknoll Lay Missioner and worked in Kenya for five years before returning to the US. She worked as a Physician’s Assistant for Visiting Physician Services, Holmdel, NJ for many years before retiring and moving to Sunset Beach North Carolina.

She was a member of the Shrewsbury (NJ) Chorale and the Precious Blood (NJ) church choir.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 4-6 pm at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte Chapel

Services will be held on Thursday, July 15 at 10am at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Shallotte, NC. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on July 24 at the church of the Precious Blood, Monmouth Beach, NJ.

She was a beloved sister, mother and servant to God.
