Obituary
Lacy Franklin Tripp, 84, of Shallotte, NC died December 14, 2017.
Born in Vanceboro, NC on February 17, 1933 he was the son of the late Leon Tripp and Ruth Huff Tripp. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Tripp and a brother, Eugene Tripp.
He was the former owner of Brunswick Tractor Company in Longwood, NC and retired from Progress Energy as a Radiation Control Manager. He was a graduate of Campbell University and Wake Forest University.
Surviving are his sons, Mike Tripp (Melanie) of Greenville, NC, Ricky Tripp (Carol) of Columbia, SC and Phil Tripp (Dianne) of Shallotte, NC; brother, David Tripp of Longwood, NC; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Shallotte by the Rev. Dr. Bob Weathers and the Rev. Aaron Tripp. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home and at other times from his residence.
Active casket bearers will be Logan Tripp, Heath Tripp, Jerry Brown, Rev. Aaron Tripp, Hunter Allen and Tim Ivey. Honorary casket bearers will be Adam Formyduval, Gordon Winfree, Buddy Evans, Vernon Danford, Horace Smith, Roscoe Warren, Dudley King and the Seniors Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Shallotte.
The family would like to thank Sharon Lucas for her god given talent for taking care of our Pop's and the Comfort Keepers of SC for the special care that was provided for Lacy.
