Obituary
Layton Tharpe, 88, Calabash, NC, formerly of Ash, NC died July 17, 2021.
Born in Brunswick County, NC on March 27, 1933, he was a son of the late Tommy Thorpe and Ettie Rabon Thorpe. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his late wife, Ora Vivian Tharpe.
He was a retired self-employed welder and builder owner operator of several shrimp boats, and a member of Living Water Baptist Church.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, and his special friends for 50 years, Wayne and Bonnie Swink.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 1:00 pm in Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens, Shallotte.
