LeRoy Mintz, Jr., 82, of Shallotte, NC passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, after an extended illness. 

Born in New Hanover County, NC on November 18, 1943, he was the son of the late LeRoy Mintz, Sr. and Catheryn Chadwick Mintz.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Holden Mintz and son Jeffrey Neil Mintz. 

LeRoy graduated from North Carolina State University in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree.  He was a banker and the president of the board for Security Savings & Loans Bank, where he proudly served the community of Shallotte, NC, until his retirement in 2004.

He was a faithful supporter and server of Camp United Methodist Church for over 50 years.  LeRoy also took pride in being a part of the North Carolina State Alumni Association, Wolfpack Club Scholarship Donor, North Carolina State Century Club, and the North Carolina Agricultural Association.

He is survived by his son Doug Mintz (Joy) of Shallotte, NC; loving brother John Mintz (Gloria) of Shallotte, NC; caring grandchildren, Neil Mintz (Brittany), Drew Mintz (Chelsea), Ashlyn Mintz, and Christina Patelos, all of Shallotte, NC; great grandchildren Maya Mintz and Malcolm Mintz, of Shallotte, NC.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 1:00PM in Camp United Methodist Church (4807 Main Street, Shallotte, NC  28470), with a burial to follow in the Mintz Cemetery.
