Obituary
Lettie Pearl West, 78, of Shallotte passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017.
Mrs. West was born in Robeson County, on March 5, 1939 to the late Garland Durant and Bessie Bell Norton Hewitt.
Known as Pearl, she began her career in a tiny sewing room in the West Point Pepperell Plant in Lumberton. She was transferred to Elizabethtown, where she retired having worked her way up to order clerk and secretary. She loved spending time with her family. She was a blessed soul who loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Freddie West of Shallotte, and Johnny West and wife Judy of Lumberton; grandchildren Ryan West, Kelsey West, Cory West and wife Ashley, and Candace Babson; great-grandchildren Wendy, CJ, Katie, Shaynne and Jarrah Babson.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 2, 2017 at 12:00 PM in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel in Shallotte. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home
