Lillian Carol (Burtis) Fitz-Gerald November 16, 1937 - January 23, 2022 On January 23, 2022, Lillian Carol Fitz-Gerald died peacefully at home surrounded by her family at the age of 84. Born November 16, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of Howard Burtis and Dolly Murphy. Carol attended Bartram High School in Philadelphia. She was the loving and devoted wife for 65 years to Reginald John Fitz-Gerald. She was the mother of two loving sons, Reginald Paul and Stephen Robert (spouse, Lisa Giordano), as well as four granddaughters; Ashley Fitz-Gerald Matlack, Megan Fitz-Gerald Osborn, Meredith Jill Fitz-Gerald Smith, Marielle Grace Fitz-Gerald and six great grandchildren; Hayden Osborn, Cade Matlack, Rae Osborn, Harper Matlack, Scarlett Smith and Arrow Smith. She was the sister to the late Howard Burtis. Carol was know for her kind heart, patience and compassionate spirit. She loved to be surrounded by her family. She loved to play golf with Brierwoods Women's Club and she loved going to her cross stitch club and then go to lunch with the girls. In her younger years Carol and Reggie loved to boat and travel along the Sassafras River and Chesapeake Bay. Their love for the water has been passed down the generations. The family will be having a private ceremony with immediate family.
