Linda G. Peloquin
Obituary
Linda Gravelin Peloquin was born in Moosup, CT on October 22, 1946, and passed away peacefully in Wilmington, NC on July 1, 2024, after a courageous eight-year battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her parents, Aime and Irene Gravelin, and married Michael George Peloquin, who survives her on June 26, 1965. Linda and Michael just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary and cared for one another so deeply. Linda graduated from Plainfield High School in 1964, received her LPN license and then went onto receive her associate degree from Quinebaug Valley Community College.
Linda truly was a proud family person and loved her husband, children and grandchildren with all her heart making their lives so special. She was always a faithful friend with a friendly smile, funny joke or words of encouragement. Linda was strong in her Catholic faith, an avid reader, a wonderful cook and loved to watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She also loved to watch UCONN women’s and men’s basketball with her husband, especially during their National Championship runs!
Linda and her husband were residents of Wauregan, CT for over 30 years and made Calabash, NC their retirement home “at the beach” about 4 years ago. Linda was proud to be a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 30 years working at a nursing home in the Alzheimer’s unit. Linda was a compassionate and caring nurse to all her patients.
Linda is survived by her brother Richard Gravelin of Calabash, NC, her children, Michael Alan Peloquin and wife Billie of Sterling, CT, Jessica Ann Austin and husband David of Little River, SC and Jeffrey Peloquin of Danielson, CT; grandchildren, Michael Charles Peloquin, Taylor Peloquin, Christie Lessard (Austin) and Jason Austin; and her first great-grandchild Cooper Lessard, her aunt Alice Carroll of Sterling, CT, sister in law, Barbara Schaffer and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her sisters-in-law and brother-in law, Donna Irons, Ed Irons and Sheila Gravelin. Linda is also survived by her close lifelong friends Mary George, Phyllis Sweet, Brenda Krumpols and many others.
Funeral arrangements will be held privately at the family’s convenience.
