Linda Grissom Childress (Grammy),
Passed on February 16, 2022 in McLeod health Seacoast Hospital surrounded by her family. Linda was born December 7, 1947 in Durham, North Carolina where she lived most of her life. At time of the passing she resided in Carolina Shores, North Carolina. Linda had a vibrant and creative spirit as a singer, seamstress, decorator, and gardener. Her loved ones remember her as a loving mother, wife, friend, and Grammy.
Linda is survived by her husband Barry Childress, eldest daughter Jennifer and husband Gino, son Jeff and wife Andi, daughter Beth and husband Terry, daughter Kristin and husband PJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Justin, Summer, Hunter, Jacob, Alex, Nicholas, Lauren, Bailey, Logan; and great grandson, Levi. As well as her dear friends.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at the Elk Lodge, 937 Carter Drive, SW, Calabsh, NC 28467, on February 19, 2022 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Friends and family are invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution may be made to Andrews Chapel Unite Methodist church (Calabash location), in her name, and to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital. Additionally, to honor Linda, the family requests you pay it forward through acts of kindness in your community.
