Linda Sue Graham
Obituary
Linda Sue Jordan Graham, age 77, originally from Bladenboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2023, at her residence in Ocean Isle Beach.
Sue was born in Lumberton, North Carolina, on September 28, 1945. She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Mabel (Davis) and Curtis Benton and Jimmie “Love Joy” Jordan. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Archie Melvin Graham; daughter, Camelia Joy Graham; daughter, Tammy Sue Graham; son, James Archie Graham; and daughter-in-law, Natalie Rose Graham.
Sue was a vibrant soul, beautiful inside and out; just ask anyone who knew her. She loved life, loved to dance, and she would light up any social gathering. If you weren't careful, she would have you dancing before it was all over with. The long conversations on her front porch will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to experience them. Sue was a perfect fit as a member of the Red Hat Society, an organization that optimizes fun, friendship, and fitness. Most importantly, Sue adored her family. She was a military wife and mother of three beautiful children. She was a stay-at-home mother for many years before becoming a beloved teacher's assistant in the public school system of South Carolina until she retired. The value of her work with the children she taught was unmeasurable. Sue will be greatly missed by the many lives she touched and influenced. Her selflessness, love, and dedication to her family and friends will be remembered and treasured forever.
Sue is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Deborah and Leonard Sapp, Tim and Pamela Benton, Craig Benton, and Samantha Davis. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Audra and Richard Fortune, Jonathan and Charlotte Sapp, Debra McDuffie, Ashley and Lesley Davis, Timothy and Sofia Benton, Franklin and Amber Benton, William and Chelsea Benton, Carley Davis and Kurtis Parker. Finally, Sue is survived by her great nieces and nephews: Myla Benton, Avery Sapp, Jackson Davis, Owen Davis, Mateo Benton, Micah Lee Benton, Esther Rose Benton, Chelsea Bordeaux, Avalyn Priest, Waylon Benton, Everleigh Parker, Elise Parker, Dorrell Dockery, and Brianica Dockery.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm followed by a celebration of life at 2 pm on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Brunswick Funeral Service, 5229 Ocean Highway W, Shallotte, NC 28470.
