Lois Hewett

Lois FormyDuval Hewett, 90, passed away at her home in Shallotte on Saturday, July 23, 2016 after an illness. She was born in Columbus County, NC, on August 13, 1925, the daughter of Major FormyDuval and Lou Pierce FormyDuval.

She and her husband, the late Dykes Hewett, owned and operated Shady Park Exxon Station for 56 years.

Surviving are her nephew, Bobby Ezzell (Rosanna) of Whiteville; Sisters-in-laws, Carol Hewett of Clemmons, NC and Anna FormyDuval of Wilmington; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Sue Pendergraft and Janet Thompson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM, Monday, July 25, from Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte, by The Rev. Joe Needham and Dr. Dave Heller. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers will be Jerry Ezzell, Al Milliken, Jamie Milliken, McRay Simmons, Derek Ezzell, and Lee Ezzell.

Memorials may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice House, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422.
