Obituary
Lorane Hughes Stanley, 91, of Ash died January 21, 2019 at her residence. She was born on July 26, 1927 a daughter of Charlie Hughes and Caroline Smith Hughes. In addition her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Shelton Lee Stanley, brothers, Evan Hughes, Thurston Hughes, Delmas Hughes, and George R. Hughes; and sisters, Cleata Smith, Vera Smith, Catherine Long and Dora Mae Hughes Ludlum.
Surviving is her brother, Vardell Hughes (Genevieve); and sisters-in-law, Arlene Hughes, Jeanette Fowler and Vivian Hughes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at
11:00 AM, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte, by her special nephew, the Rev. Charlie Smith, and her pastor, the Rev. Jason Benton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
