Obituary
Lorenzo “Loren” Embry Shearer, Jr. born on January 13, 1946 passed away at home with his family by his side on March 26, 2023. Mr. Shearer was born in Bennettsville S.C. a son of the late Embry and Margaret Shearer. He was a retired nurse anesthetist employed at Bruce Hospital and Carolina Hospital System in Florence, S.C. He spent several years coaching Dixie Youth baseball, Pop Warner football and was a Cub Scout leader. When not fishing, his favorite past time was watching his sons and grandchildren participating in sports and other activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Embry and Margaret, and brothers Glen and Walter Shearer.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years Jean Shearer of Ocean Isle, NC; two sons, Patrick Shearer (wife, Melinda) of Rock Hill, SC and Todd Shearer (wife, Gina) of Apex, NC; sister, Betty Baraquony of Charlotte NC; and five grandchildren, William, David, Jordan, Jamie and Julia Shearer
The family request donations be made to: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at (c/o Triangel and Wilmington NC; 105 Westpark Drive #415, Brentwood, TN 37027).
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 6, 2023 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte, NC.
