Obituary
Lorraine A. Kurtz of Calabash, NC passed away peacefully on August 21, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Carnegie, PA, to the late John and Olga Subjinski.
She spent much of her life raising a family in Springfield, VA. At intervals, Lorraine was employed by the Navy Dept., Ebsco Corp, and Gannett.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard Kurtz; daughter, Pamela (William) of Montpelier, VA; son, Richard Jr. (Meredith) of Raleigh. She was predeceased by youngest son Brian. She was a fun loving Grandma to Tripp, Maggie, Alexandra, Barrett, Calvin, Mackenzie and Lylah.
Living in Brunswick Plantation, she enjoyed her golf, flower gardens, floral decorations and displays.
A celebration of life was held on August 31st at St. Brendan, The Navigator Catholic Church. Friends were requested to wear bright colors to reflect as blooming flowers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Life Center, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Caregivers, Dr. Lee, Nurses and supporting staff at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center, Bolivia. Also many thanks to home health services of Comfort Keepers, Shallotte.
