Obituary
Lorraine Orzel Hiester, daughter of John and Laura Orzel, survived by children Jay Davis and Deb Phelan (wife of Kevin) and grandson Jason; and widow of E. Gregory Hiester passed from complications of pancreatic cancer on February 20, 2025, after residing in Ocean Isle Beach for more than two decades.
She spent most of her life working as a registered pharmacist and later enjoyed her retirement volunteering for hospice, traveling the world and kayaking every chance she had. Here is to Lorraine - one of a kind for sure - she certainly always did do it 'her way' as Sinatra sang!
Lorraine wrote in her Hospice Book: "Life's not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and loudly proclaiming: "holy shit, what a ride!"
A Memorial Mass will be held at St Brendan Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
