Margaret Fay Furlong, 81, of Shallotte, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 13, 2018, at her home.
Mrs. Furlong was born on June 5, 1936 in Philadelphia, P.A. She was one of four children of the late Thomas and Marguerite Dohney Cusack. She was a retired Civil Servant with the Naval Air Development Center in Warminster, PA. After retirement she moved to Shallotte in 1997. She was an ex-member of the Brierwood Ladies Golf Group.
Mrs. Furlong is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Edward Earl Furlong Sr. and a son-in-law, Peter Van Vuuren.
Surviving is her son, Edward Furlong, Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Willow Springs; daughter, Gail Van Vuuren of Shallotte; sister in-law, Alice Burns of Little River, S.C.; grandchildren, Erica, Danielle, Kirsten, Douglas; and one great-grandson, Andrew.
