Obituary
Margaret Marie Bellamy Parrish, 95, Supply, NC, died on April 27, 2025, following a brief illness. Born in Boones Neck, Brunswick County, NC, on June 9, 1929, to the late Raymond E. Bellamy, Sr., and Rosie Etta Fulford Bellamy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dixon (H.D.) Parrish, Jr.; son, Henry Steven Parrish, Sr., great granddaughter, Casey May Bennett and siblings: Norman Bellamy, Clara Holden, Evyleene Reeves, Leona Cheers, Palmer Bellamy, Ophelia Gaither, and R. E. Bellamy, Jr.
She graduated from Shallotte High School in 1947 and worked at the family business – R. E. Bellamy & Sons until H. D. was drafted in the Army and they relocated to Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Once H. D. was sent to Korea, she returned home until he was discharged from the Army, and they began building their home on Stanbury Road. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper for their automotive business - Parrish Automotive, EMT with Coastline Volunteer Rescue Squad and most of all, a caregiver to many.
Margaret was known for her ability to make a piano talk. Her gift from God was a beautiful talent which she shared at many gospel sings; as church pianists; choir director; funerals, weddings, and the occasional family reunion. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Shallotte, NC where she also served as Choir Director, Christmas Program Director, Sunday School teacher, Finance and Social Committees.
She is survived by her children; Pamela Parrish Palmiter (Carl) and Christopher H. Parrish (Sandi). Her grandchildren; Steven Parrish (Amanda), Cameron Bennett (Robin), Nicholas Bennett (Cassie Zehnder), Alex Palmiter (Sarah), Aleaha Parrish-Estep, Brayden and Avery Parrish. Her great grandchildren; Riley Parrish, Case and Macie Bennett.
Funeral services will be conducted on May 2, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 623 Village Road, SW, Shallotte, NC 28470 with the Reverend Joe Needham and Reverend Rick Carter. Burial to follow in the Sabbath Home Baptist Church Cemetery, 990 Sabbath Home Road, SW, Supply, NC.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Calvary Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, “Calvary NOW”, 623 Village Road, SW, Shallotte, NC 28470.
