Obituary
Marilue Tate age 67 of Ocean Isle Beach, NC passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Born on June 10, 1955 in Fredericksburg, VA, daughter of the late Kenneth and Peggy Morris.
Marilue was passionate about her family, her grandkids, her many friends, and her golf game. A former labor and delivery nurse she helped bring countless lives into the world. Her circles of friends included L&D nurses from Inova Alexandria Hospital, Army Navy CC, SAIC/Leidos co-workers, James Monroe High School classmates, Virginia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, and her friends here at Ocean Ridge Plantation.
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Michael Tate; daughters Shannon Porter (Dave) of Hampstead, NC, Kelli Tate of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren AnnaBella Porter and Ryan Porter; sisters Julie Wilkes of Richmond, VA, and Beth Micks (John) of Fredericksburg, VA; brother Bruce Morris (Debbie) of Bluffton, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Brunswick Funeral Service, 5229 Ocean Highway, West, Shallotte, NC 28470. A reception will follow at the Ocean Ridge Plantation Clubhouse, 190 Ocean Ridge Parkway, SW, Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation (yourCPF.org) in the name of her grandson, Ryan Porter.
