Marilyn Register Tripp, 89, of Shallotte, NC died Sunday, December 8, 2024.

Born in Brunswick County, NC on February 25, 1935, a daughter of the late Ralph Waldo Register and Etta Sue Register Register.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Billy Tripp, son Nicky Tripp, sisters Violia “Vi” Woods, and Dianne Jones, brothers Malcolm “Mack” Register and James “Jimmy” Register.

Marilyn, along with her husband, established Tripp’s Jewelry in 1963 and retired in 2000, when the second generation took over the business and the business is still in operation today.  She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.  Mama and Granny will greatly be missed. 

Surviving are daughters Michele Hobson (Don) and Kim Andrews (Gary); brother Robert “Bo” Register; sisters Jean Benton (Odell) and Jackie Beaulieu (Fred); grandchildren Amanda (Brad), Meredith (David), Ashley (Renee), Brittany Nicole, Huck (Leilani), Ashton and Rylan; great grandchildren Maddox, Justin (Madi), Tinsley, Paisley, and Logan (Kane); and great great grandchildren Carter Beau and James Finn.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00AM in Calvary Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Joe Needham.  Interment will follow in the Gurganus Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and from the residence on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 1:00PM to 7:00PM.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorials be made to Shriner’s Children Hospital, 1 Children’s Plaza, 2 W, Dayton, OH 45404 or at www.donate.lovetotherescue.org or to Calvary Baptist Church, 623 Village Road SW, Shallotte, NC  28470 in memory of Marilyn.
