Marilyn Ruth Pittman Williford

October 28^th, 1935 – September 11^th, 2023

Mrs. Marilyn Ruth Pittman Williford, 87, resident of Ocean Isle Beach, departed this life Monday morning, at her home.

Mrs. Williford is survived by her sister, Joyce Evans (Richard); a daughter, Kathy Williford Yurko (Joe); three sons, David Williford, Tracy Williford, and Danny Williford (Therese); eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Graham and Pearl Pittman; her husband, George Williford; her brothers Jimmy and Ernest Pittman; and her sisters, Janice Lewis, Glenda Taylor, and Rachel Edens.

Marilyn was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, where she loved to hear the hymns and the word of God. She enjoyed making desserts, especially banana pudding for a special granddaughter, Hannah; spending time with a special grandson, Christopher; and faithfully, she loved reading her Bible.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at Brunswick Funeral Service located at 5229 Ocean Highway West in Shallotte, with Pastor Darryll Hester officiating. Burial will follow after the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

A New Heaven and a New Earth

21 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,”^[a] for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. ² I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. ³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ⁴ ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’^[b] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
