Martha (Mot) Jane Noblitt
Born September 5, 1936 in Shelby, NC to Perry and Annie Mae Noblitt. Brother Milton died in 1977, and brother Bill died in 2016. Both parents are deceased, father died in 1989, mother died in 1990.
Attended Marion Elementary School, Shelby Jr. High, and graduated from Shelby Sr. High School in 1954. Received undergraduate degree from Appalachian State in 1958 and Master’s Degree in 1963.
Taught physical education and general science, and coached basketball and softball at Holbrook High in Lowell, NC prior to moving to Lancaster, SC while she was with the school system for 31 years. While in Lancaster, she taught physical education and biology, coached basketball and tennis, and served as assistant principal at Lancaster High School after which she became principal at McDonald Green Elementary School. During her tenure there, an addition containing 10 classroom, a gym, and a new cafeteria was built. Following her years at McDonald Green she became Director of Elementary Education for Lancaster County School District and during her final three years she was Director of Personnel. She retired on June 30, 1994.
After moving to Holden Beach in 1998, she became a member of Sharon United Methodist Church where she has served on various committees and taken part in church activities. Served as president of the Senior Lunch Bunch for 8 years.
Surviving are niece, Allison Rose Kessinger (Derrick) and children Zachary, Anna Rose, Joshua of Mt. Gilead, NC; 4 nephews, Billy, Bobby, David, and John from Shelby, NC; and Judy Hogsed, business partner and life companion.

Service will be held on Monday, March 27 at 11:00 AM at Sharon United Methodist Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Sharon United Methodist Church, 2030 Holden Beach Road, Supply, NC 28462.
