Martha Masten Lafferty
Obituary
Martha Masten Lafferty, 75, of Sea Trail died Saturday, August 13, 2016, after a short illness. She was born in Baltimore, MD, on February 9, 1941, a daughter of John C. Masten and Sue Carlton Masten.
When she was a college student she met a handsome soldier, Joseph Lafferty. They later married and raised their family in a small town in New Jersey called Ho-Ho-Kus. She was a homemaker until her children were grown and then worked in education. In 2003 she and Joseph moved to Sunset Beach, North Carolina where she enjoyed bridge, singing with the Song Birds in Sea Trail, and “playing at golf.”
Surviving are her husband, Joseph Lafferty; son, John Edward “Ward” Lafferty of New Jersey; daughter, Melissa Greenwood Lafferty of New Jersey; sister, Susannah Wilson (James) of Georgia; and her beloved canine buddy, “Bandit.”
Services will be held at a later date.
