Mary Cecilia Simpson, 89, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Ocean Isle Beach, NC died on February 20, 2021.
Born in Mecklenburg County on July 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Philip John Woidyla and Polly Wilkerson Woidyla.
Surviving are her sons, Ralph “Skip” Simpson (wife,Mary Ann), Richmond, VA, Mark Simpson (wife, Donna), Waxhaw, NC, John Simpson (wife, Nicole), Knoxville, TN, and Tim Simpson (husband, Brent), Jacksonville, FL; brother, John Woidyla, Lincolnton, NC; grandchildren, Shannon, Tyler, Emily, Luke, Lindsay, and Anna, and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 27, 2021 in Brunswick Memorial Gardens, Shallotte, NC.
She had a heart for lonely people and all animals. She believed and trusted in the Lord in her daily life.
Memorials may be directed to Atrium Health Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110 and /or your local humane society.
Masks and social distancing will be observed.
