Obituary
Mary “Mervine” Reed Moore, 78, of Sunset Beach, NC passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2018.
Mervine was born in Charlotte, NC on October 21, 1940, daughter of the late John Reed and Margaret Frost Reed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Moore and brother, Mike Reed.
Her life’s work was raising children. After raising her own, she continued her work with children at Sardis Presbyterian Church Mother’s Day Out Program. She was very active in her church, Calabash Presbyterian where she sang in the choir and helped in the office. She was in the Red Hat Club, now the Sunset Chicks.
Surviving are her children, Meg Scism (Charles), Jeff Moore (Cherrie), and John Moore; grandchildren, Haley Harden (Billy), Christopher Moore, and Courtney Moore; great-grandchild, Logan Harden.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Calabash Presbyterian Church.
