Obituary
Melissa Catherine Palazzi Green, age 47 died Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at the Hock Family Pavilion, in Durham, NC surrounded by her family.
Melissa was born on June 26, 1976, in Beaver County, PA to Dennis and Elizabeth Kerstetter Palazzi.
Melissa loved to fish, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and sports in general. Nothing was more settling to her than sitting on her mom’s pier on the intercoastal waterway and fishing. She also enjoyed horseback riding. She was a loving daughter, wife, and mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband: Christopher Green; son Michael Carter Green; mother: Elizabeth “Beth” Dodson; father and stepmother: Dennis and Bea Palazzi; sister Shannon Thompson (Robert) and two nieces: Olivia and Ava.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 PM at Brunswick Funeral Service, 5229 Ocean Hwy W Shallotte, NC. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Henry Redher officiating. Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Hock Family Pavilion for their kindness and compassion during Melissa’s stay in Durham.
