Melonie Renee Simmons, 53, of Nakina, NC died February 7, 2023.
Born in Columbus County on October 4, 1969 she was a daughter of the late William Alton “Billy” Grissett and Peggy Ann Russ Grissett.
She was a retired special needs teacher and a member of Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Jillian Simmons and partner,Tyler Hewett of Nakina, NC; sister, Jill Eddins (Ed) of Bailey, NC; brother, Russ Grissett (Melissa) of Nakina, NC; niece, Sarah Grissett and nephew, Jeremy Grissett.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 18, 2023 in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte, NC.
