Michael “Mike” Gregory Boyd, 84, of Wilmington, NC died Friday, December 15, 2023.
Born on September 18, 1939, in Hamlet, NC, he was the son of the late Daniel C. Boyd, Jr. and Myrtle McDuffie Boyd. He was also predeceased by his wife Rosie Lena Fisher Boyd.
Mr. Boyd served in U.S. Army as a Green Beret. He was also a member of the Green Beret Association and the Toastmasters Club.
Surviving is his sister, Nancy Walker, Wilmington, NC; stepchildren Thomas Boyd, Whiteville, NC, Daniel Dean Burroff (Regina), Sunset Beach, NC, Linda Boyd Smith (James), Holden Beach, NC, Brenda Burroff Kirby (Ray) Eden, NC; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a niece, Kim Newell (Dr. Terry-Michael Newell, Jr.), Zebulon; and a nephew, Daniel Boyd Walker (Jennifer), Wilmington.
A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 11:30AM in the Georgetown Holden Cemetery, Supply, NC officiated by Dr. Terry-Michael Newell, Jr. with military honors.
